The Story of Michael & Yara’s Destination Wedding in Puerto Rico
Some weddings become more than beautiful celebrations. They become part of a family story.
When Yara first contacted me, there was already a connection between us. Years earlier, I had the honor of planning her sister’s wedding. That experience created something I value deeply in this profession; trust, friendship, and the feeling of becoming part of a family’s most meaningful moments.

As a wedding planner, there is no greater compliment than when a family returns to you again for another chapter of their love story.
Michael and Yara planned their wedding from Chicago while preparing to celebrate in beautiful Ponce, Puerto Rico. Planning a destination wedding from afar can feel overwhelming for many couples, especially when balancing work, family, travel, vendors, and countless decisions. My goal from the very beginning was simple: to make them feel guided, supported, calm, and genuinely cared for.

Over the months of planning, we worked together to create a wedding experience that reflected not only elegance and beauty, but also peace of mind. From vendor recommendations to logistics, timelines, communication, and emotional support, every detail mattered.
One of the things I always say is that weddings are not only about flowers, décor, or schedules. They are about people. About emotions. About trust. And that trust is built by doing things with honesty, consistency, empathy, and heart.

Reading Michael’s review after the wedding touched me deeply because it reflects the exact philosophy behind amrdestinationweddingspr.com: “Her calm demeanor made everything feel easy and under control, like she had done this a thousand times before.”
After more than 30 years in events and weddings, I have learned that true luxury is not only how a wedding looks; it is how the couple feels throughout the journey. Calm. Supported. Guided. Present.
